What is Home Care?

Home care is care that enables a person with specific needs to stay in their home. Persons can include those who are aging, have a chronic illness, recovering from surgery or have a disability.​

 

How long have you been in business?

Able Mind & Body Home was founded in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 2015.

Where do you provide services?

We provide Home Care services for Philadelphia, Montgomery, Chester, Delaware, and Bucks Counties.

 

What makes Able Mind & Body Home Care different from other companies that provide the same service?

Unlike other home care providers, we can provide extra financial guidance for families who use benefits to pay for home care. Able Mind & Body Home Care can help with claims processing and billing for the following types of benefits:

  • Long-term care insurance

  • Veterans’ Administration

  • Workers’ compensation

  • Non-profit organizations

  • Medicaid

  • And more!

 

Is the cost for services covered by my health plan?

Depending on your coverage and the services required, some of the costs may be covered by your health plan. However Able Mind & Body Home Care, LLC is an OLTL (Office of Long Term Living) Provider, as Home and Community Based Waiver provider for the Aging, Attendant Care/Act 150, Commcare, Independence, Obra waiver programs offering Personal Assistance Services. In addition to that, we are also a Medicaid Assistance Waiver provider for individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (from the Office of Developmental Programs) as well as a waiver provider for Adult Autism. All are a waiver service that enrolled clients, do not pay out of pocket for. Give us a call so that we can discuss your options.

 

Is my Long-Term Care insurance accepted?

Able Mind & Body Home Care accepts Long-Term Care insurance. If you are unsure about whether or not your insurance policy covers our services, we can help you.

Can I pick the services I want?

Yes, you certainly can pick and choose the services that you want. You are the customer and you tell us what to do!

 

Are your Caregivers insured and bonded?

Yes, all our employees are screened so that they can be bonded and insured.

 

Do I get to pick the person looking after me?

Yes, if you do not like the match we made you can help us in finding a better employee match.

 

Are all your Caregivers nurses?

Some of our Caregivers are nurses, some are designated health professionals and some are trained caregivers. We match the Caregiver's training to best fit your needs.

 

Are your employees trained?

Yes, most of our employees have specific training in a health discipline or have been trained internally through the Able Mind & Body Homecare training program. Our employees are encouraged to continue their education and training throughout their employment with us.

 

What happens if my caregiver gets sick?

You have a choice of cancelling the appointment or allowing us to send a replacement caregiver.

 

Is Able Mind & Body Homecare service only available in the home?

No, we can provide our services to you whether you live at home or a senior's complex or health care facility.

Are home care services covered by insurance or Medicare?

Medicare does provide an Eligibility Tool to see if your family qualifies, but they typically don't pay for the type of hourly personal care service that Able Home & Body provides. 

​

However, there are many companies who either fully reimburse or partially reimburse for home healthcare. Typical accounts for reimbursement include reverse mortgage, health savings accounts (HSAs) and flexible spending accounts.

 

Do I pay the caregiver directly?

No. You (or an authorized representative) are invoiced for your services. Usually, this happens weekly. You never have to pay caregivers directly. And you'll never be asked to pay an additional fee to any employee.

 

How is the privacy of my personal information maintained?

We adhere to all applicable federal and state guidelines related to privacy of personal and healthcare information. This starts once we have a formal services agreement, before a caregiver even comes to your family member's home. The written service agreement stipulates the exact restrictions on the use of your information, which clarifies that even unauthorized individuals will not be given access to information without a client's – or legally authorized representative's – formal consent.

 

Your information is never sold to a third party under any circumstances. In fact, only the office personnel and Caregivers who are directly involved in your services will have access to information related to the care of your loved one.
